About Me

Former Industrial Chemist who retired  in 2005 at which time we purchased our first caravan.  A Sterling Europa 5 berth, towed by a Ford Mondeo 2000 TDCI ( 54 plate).

Have now changed to a Sterling Europa 4 berth towed by a Ford Mondeo 2000 TDCI (09 plate)

We have toured extensively with the car in Western Europe, getting as far as Norway.  Since having the caravan we have toured mainly France and Germany but toured to Prague in 2009 and Barcelona in 2010.

About Me

Me and Val own a Timberland Endeavour Motorhome, we Have travelled the full length of the UK.... Lands End to John O' Groats, Shetland (& Yell & Unst), Orkney (& Hoy), Mull and all round the country.

In 2010 I travelled to Nordkapp in Norway to see the midnight sun and acheived an ambition of crossing the Artic Circle. A 4'996 miles round trip in 3 weeks. The Van was a dream to drive and it was the first time i'd driven abroad (which was one of the reasons i wen't alone, that and Val don't like the cold!!). Holland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland & Norway were great!! (the Russian border was a bit scary though) that wetted my appitite for European touring.

we just got back from 4 weeks in France (Feb-March 2011) we got down as far as Hondarribia in Spain And Visited Pamplona, it was ok but we wern't that impressed to be honest.... with the exception of Mont-Saint-Michel that was awsome, one of the best places i've seen.

we are going to Holland, Germany & Austria (May-June 2011) so looking forward to this trip

About Me

Now retired and recently back into caravanning after a twenty odd year break.
We bought  a new two berth Sterling Elite this year and have been out in it six times including two weeks in France. We like to go to places where there is relatively easy cycling and good scenery, ie canal or riverside cycle paths.
