Campingplatz Winkl-Landthal****  BISCHOFSWIESEN, Klaushausweg 7. D-83483 /Bayern.  Website:-  Here  ACSI Camping Card taken.  Details ACSI Book 2015 Site No. 796.

We have stopped at this campsite 3/4 times the last being 2012.  There are some adverse comments on the ACSI Website in details of this campsite but I do not totally agree with them.  The owner is a little off hand but still helpful we have found.  When signing in you will be given lots of info for the area and a card for free or discount of transport and attractions in the area.  Card has to be handed back on leaving the site .  We always enjoy stopping here as the surrounding area is beautiful and so many places to visit. Berchtesgaden 10 mins. by car for Eagles Nest and other sites.   Ramsau the Picture Box Village, not faraway. Salzburg 30 minutes (Be sure to get your Austrian Vignette if going there on the autobahn.) also same if going to Oberndorf to visit the Stille Nacht Kapel Website for this

Bread is available daily by order the day before.

Showers, Toilets and Laundry very well equipped and spotlessly clean (all times of visiting the site)

Electricity EHU on pitch which has meter.  Electricity is metered under the ACSI Guild lines and we have never been overcharged.

Pitches are hard standing.

WiFi is good but quite expensive.

Sky Satellite TV reception good with 80 cms dish.

Shopping is good at large supermarket in shopping center just 2 mins down the on way to Berchtesgaden.

I suggest you look on page Germany info for more about sights to see or into some of the Trips we have done to this area.

Campsite Muhlleiten, down by the Konigsee  Bavaria.  Website:_  We enjoyed our visit to this site way back in 2004 but have not been back since due to belonging to ACSI and it is further to drive with the van to stop and see this fantastic area.  We could not fault the site and found the details in the Caravan Europe Book 2.

CHIEMING/Stottham. On Chiemsee Lake.

Campsite Seehausel***  Beim Seehausl 1 D-83339 / Bayern.  Website:- Here    ACSI Camping Card taken. Details in ACSI CC 2015 Site No. 800.

This site is quite small just 35 pitches in total so it is advisable to book a pitch before going there.  The site is virtually on the beach of the lake and peddleboat can be used free of charge.  Because the site is so small it can be a bit cramped but really enjoyed our stay. So much to see around the Chiemsee.  Plenty of nice trips to make to Reit em Winkl and Rhupolding.   More details on the surrounding area in Trip 8. 2011 Part 2 with photos.

Owners were very friendly and helpful.

Toilets and Showers were excellent, modern and spotlessly clean.

Lovely Restaurant but we did not get the chance to use it so cannot comment on the food.

Pitches are good though small with EHU and Water.

Bread available on order at reception.

WiFi good for a small charge.

Satellite TV good reception with 80 cms. Dish.

Shopping in the Village close by.

Bavaria Kur und Sport Camping, Grafenauer Strasse 31, D-94535 / Bayern,  Website:- Here   ACSI Camping Card taken.  Details ACSI Book 2015. Site No. 801.

The site was very busy in June when we were there due to the Dutch overnighter's on their way South so advisable to arrive before 4 p.m or book ahead.

Two reasons why we visited here was I wanted to visit Passau, and I wasn't disappointed, and a new route north we have never used before.

The Restaurant was good and food excellent.

Bread can be ordered at the Reception.

Showers and Toilets modern, clean and excellent.

Pitches good with EHU and Water.

WiFi over the site but it had gone down when we were there.

Satellite TV good with 80 cms Dish.

Shopping in village nearby.

Passau and Site Photo's in Trip No 6. 2009.

Campsite Kratzmuhle**** Muhlweg 2, D-85125 / Bayern.  Website:- Here    ACSI Camping Card taken.  Site No. 812. 2015 ACSI Book.

This is a very good site for overnight stop en-route and being in the countryside I would think nice for a longer stay.  We stopped for 2 nights as we wanted to visit Regensburg and this is the nearest ACSI Site for there.  There is an ADAC canmpsite in Regensburg but it looked like you had to approach right through the center of the City and having a large outfit we did not want to do this.  We just wanted to visit the ADAC Office to meet the staff who deal with most of the UK memberships, which was set up for me 2 years ago on request to Head Office to make it easier for Brits. to join the organization.   The staff all speak perfect English which makes it much easier too.

The site is situated some distance down a made up road in the grounds of a large water mill and was very attractive.

Restaurant.  There is a Gastof just outside the entrance gate that has a restaurant which is supposed to be very good.  We did not actually go in there over our short stay.

Reception was very helpful and friendly.

Toilets and Showers were superb very warm and spotlessly clean.

The first two area's were hardstanding with EHU  (no metre) and water close by.

WiFi was good and very reasonable.

T.V via Satellite 80 cms dish was excellent.

Fresh Bread can be ordered daily.

There is a lake nearby where you can swim.

Shopping in the village a couple of miles away.

I cannot give you a list of places to visit as we only visited Regensburg but it is a lovely old city.

Campingplatz Freisentinzel, Bad Abbach, Mr. Regensburg.

This Site is excellent for visiting Regensburg it was newly opened last year when we visited it and still everything looks new the Toilets, Showers etc pristine.  As it was Ascension Day Holiday weekend it was quite busy.  We decided, not as we did last year, and not stopping more than one night to go for a standard pitch and found the ACSI Card pitches were all in one area one side of the roadway grass and the other bare.   For 3 Euro's you can have a bigger pitch higher up the Site.

We enjoyed out stay here when we made the trip to this area to visit Nuremberg. Unfortunately it rained so we did not see much of the city so no photo's to show go to Trip No. 4. 2007.

There was quite a large restaurant but we did not get a chance to visit it.

Showers and Toilets excellent.

Pitches Grass with water and EHU nearby cannot remember whether it was metered or not.

WiFi Good

Satellite TV with 80 cms dish very good.

Fresh Bread available from reception daily.

Shopping in village nearby.

Surrounding area is pretty but we only visited Nuremberg.

Gruntensee Camping International****  Gruntensee 41, D-87497 / Bayern.  Website:-Here    Listed in the 2015 Site No 838 in ACSI Camping Card Book.

We enjoyed this camp site very much, Situated on the shore of the See.

Restaurant looked excellent but we did not try it.

Pitches for ASCI were quite small for our 8 metre van so we opted to pay extra 1€ to go down to nearer the See onto a hard standing ample size pitch with electric and water nearby.

We found the Showers, Toilets and Laundry excellent modern and very clean.

Fresh Bread is available from reception daily.

Shopping is in the village a couple of miles down the road.

WiFi was Free  not too good down by the See but excellent at the Internet Room up next to the Reception.

TV reception by 80 cms. Satellite was excellent.

There are some wonderful places to visit from this area.  Fussen a lovely old town good cheap parking underground.  A few miles on to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle a real fairy tale castle which Walt Disney based his castle on.  You can take a short trip into Austria and down the Fernpass.  To read more about these trips and details of parking etc., go to Trip No. 8. 2011.

COBURG, Bavaria.

Sonnland Camping, Sesslach, Bahnhofstrasse 154.  Website:-Here   This campsite is not too far from Coburg the lovely Bavarian city home of Prince Albert.

We really enjoyed this site.  It was set out in rings that had hedge around the outside each pitch around the ring had plenty of space and each had its own EHU, Tap and Waste.    The owner took orders for fresh bread at the reception and delivered it in a bag early morning and hung it on the caravan door handle. The little walled town of Sesslach is beautiful and quaint, being the smallest city in Germany.  Very well worth a visit if in this area.   More on this area in German info page.

SCHNAITTENBACH. Bavaria close to the border with Czech Republic with direct main autobahn to or from Prague.

Schnaittenbach Camping, Schnaittenbach, Bavaria.  Website:- Here

This campsite is very handy when travelling to Czech Republic from this part of Germany or returning from Prague.  We have stopped here twice for just a couple of nights in 2005 and 2008.  See these trips for further info. on the area and places to visit.  It was a nice campsite and very cheap cheaper than ACSI Card when we were there.  We were in the tourer field and had EHU and water was handy.
