This page is to cover camp sites where members of Joys of European Caravanning have visited, which we have or not ever stopped at.
Camping Bled, Slovenia.
This Camp Site was visited in May 2011 by one of my members who visited Jodl in Southern Austria when we were there and then went onto Slovenia.
Quote:- We found this to be a very pleasant site right on the southern edge of Lake Bled. The public bathing area was only 50 mts. across the road from the site entrance. A very lovely place to sit and have pre dinner drinks.
There were plenty of good toilet/shower facilities, which were cleaned regularly. Washing machines, dryers and ironing facilities were also available. When we were there (end of May) there was an offer for 2 people + electrics + pitch for €15 per night. Free wifi available making it very good value.
Lake Bled itself is beautiful and almost everyone speaks English. There is a circular tarmacadam path around the lake of 4 miles for cyclists and walkers.
Quite a few walks are available directly from Bled , particularly the Vintgar Gorge, well worth a visit cost €4. Lake Bohinj is about 8 miles away, a beautiful drive and is a quieter area than Bled. At the far end of Lake Bohinj there is a cable car which takes you up into the Julian Alps where there are many walking possibilities. Also around this lake there are pleasant paths and many bathing areas, but beware, we tried bathing but we read that the lake is glacial fed, we believe it!!
